Speech-Language Therapy Services
Articulation Therapy
Articulation therapy focuses on addressing speech-sound errors. Therapy will emphasis correct tongue and articulator placement for targeted sounds. Children will practice correct sounds in structured drills and play-based activities.
AAC Therapy
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) refers to any form of communication other than oral speech that an individual can use to express themselves. Children will work with both low-tech and high-tech supports to enhance their ability to request, comment, label, direct others, answer questions and more! Children can communicate using signs, picture communication symbols, or speech generating devices.
Language Therapy
Language therapy will help children develop their receptive (understanding of language) and expressive language (communication of language) skills. Sessions will focus on a child's ability to process and comprehend spoken language (e.g., follow directions, learn new vocabulary). Expressively, children may work on improving their vocabulary, use of grammar structures, formulation of sentences and narratives.
Social Skills Therapy
Social, or pragmatic therapy helps children who have difficulty using their language skills in social situations. Skills taught include conversation rules, turn-taking, initiating interactions, cooperation, negotiation. This works helps children have more successful social interactions and teaches them how to effectively communicate with others.
