Comprehensive Speech and Language Evaluations
Comprehensive speech and language testing allows you to gain a better understanding of your child's speech and language development. These evaluations focus on language comprehension and language expression, including information about vocabulary, grammar, narrative language. If applicable, assessment of pragmatic language (social skills) can also be an option. Families will participate in a review of the child's medical and educational history and receive a report summarizing your child's communication profile, highlighting strengths, identifying areas of growth and outlining recommendations.
Why should my child participate in a speech and language evaluation?
If you have concerns about your child's language development, a speech and language evaluation helps determine if speech therapy is appropriate. It can also help assess your child's current communication skills. Evaluation results can also lead to a speech and language diagnosis if appropriate, and highlight specific areas of strengths of areas of growth to better inform treatment.
